WHAT IS A NOTARY PUBLIC?
A notary public is a person commissioned to serve the public as a neutral witness. Notaries perform notarial acts that are allowed or required by law. Also, a notary is a verifier, an authenticator, an impartial agent for the state, a public recorder of acts, and an unbiased, official witness.
WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE READY FOR THE NOTARY?
- Please review all documents for the correct spelling of names and correct dates.
- All forms must be completed except where Notarial wording appears and, of course, signature lines.
- A valid form of ID must be present at the time of signing.

DOES NOTARIZING A DOCUMENT MAKE IT TRUTHFUL AND CORRECT?
Notarizing a document only validates that the signer personally appeared in front of the notary and subscribed or affirmed to the truthfulness of the document. The Notary Public has no authorization to state that a document is official, true or correct.
